Notices

WHY NOT WAKEFIELD? Next weekend is a special Wakefield Destination feature -

St John’s will be open from 12:00 – 3:00 on Sunday 1st September.

There will be a working bee on Saturday 31st August any time between 9am and noon to clean and prepare St John’s for visitors who come out during the weekend.  

 

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING – there will be a Special General Meeting on Sunday 8th September at 11:30am. Agenda item is the election of a new Peoples’ Warden. Simon Martin will be preaching that Sunday and taking the meeting.

 

FOOD AND FAITH AT 5 – following the Bishop’s letter to the Parish (please see attached) and the appointment of Phil Greenwood as Transitional Minister for Wakefield Parish, a new service will be held at the Worship Centre at 5:00pm on the second and 4th Sundays of each month beginning on 8th September. This will be led by Phil and is an informal gathering for people exploring faith. Food is being catered (provided by a grant). More information will be forthcoming.

Thursday 5th 2:00pm - meet in Church lounge – Phil Greenwood is coordinating a leaflet drop and prayer walk around the village for Food and Faith at 5 – all welcome!

WAIMEA AREA QUILT SHOW

Most of you know that the Waimea Quilters use the Worship Centre as a base for their Sit and Sew meetings. If you’ve ever found a stray coloured thread lying on the floor now is your opportunity to discover what really happens at these meetings. Come and see the magnificent end results.
